July Newsletter: Happy Fourth of July! A Small Win, Summer Reflections & A Few Favorites

Can you believe we're already heading into the Fourth of July?

Every year I think summer will slow down just a little, and every year it seems to fly by even faster. Between work, family, graduation parties, travel, and trying to squeeze in a little time for the projects we care about, it feels like we're already at the midpoint of the season.

This weekend we'll be keeping things simple at our house. Three of our four kids will be here, along with the grandkids. Nothing fancy, just grilling in the backyard, a few rounds of cornhole, good conversation, and watching the fireworks from our backyard. Honestly, those are usually the moments I remember most.

I also wanted to share a small milestone that made me smile.

The Second Act Simplified podcast was recently listed as #4 on a list of the 20 Best Second Act Podcasts in the United States. I'll admit, it's one of those fun internet lists, but it was encouraging to see the podcast recognized. When you're building something one blog post, one episode, and one weekend at a time while working full time, it's nice to know the work is reaching people.

As we head into the holiday, I hope you give yourself permission to enjoy where you are right now instead of already worrying about everything waiting for you in August.

If you have a quiet moment this weekend, here are a few articles you might enjoy:
