August Newsletter: Still haven’t done the thing? Read this.
Hi there,
August always feels like a month caught between two seasons. Summer is not quite over, but fall is already beginning to make its presence known.
Back-to-school schedules are returning. Vacations are winding down. Calendars are filling up again. Even if you no longer have children heading back to school, it is hard not to feel that familiar shift toward routines, responsibilities, and busier days.
This time of year can also bring an uncomfortable realization: the year is moving quickly.
Maybe you began 2026 believing this would be the year you started the business, explored a new direction, launched a creative project, improved your health, or finally figured out what you wanted your next chapter to look like.
Now September is approaching, and that idea may still be sitting exactly where you left it.
That does not mean you failed. It does not mean you need to rush, overhaul your life, or create an unrealistic plan to make up for lost time. It may simply mean the goal needs to fit the life you are actually living.
Season 3 is coming September 4
The next season of the Second Act Simplified Podcast is called:
The Fall Second Act Reset: Make Meaningful Progress Before the Year Ends
This season is for women in midlife who are tired of postponing something that still matters to them.
We are going to talk honestly about what gets in the way of beginning, including full-time jobs, family responsibilities, limited energy, too many ideas, fear of being judged, disrupted momentum, and the pressure to have everything figured out before taking a first step.
This will not be a season about reinventing your entire life before December.
It will be a practical series about choosing what matters now, making room for it in a busy life, and creating meaningful progress that can survive imperfect weeks.
Your plan should not only work when you are motivated, rested, and completely in control of your schedule. It also needs to work when work gets demanding, the family calendar fills up, and life does what life always does.
Before fall gets busy, ask yourself this
What did you hope would be different by the end of this year?
Do not answer with what you think you should want. Think about the idea, change, or project that continues to return, even after you have tried to dismiss it, postpone it, or convince yourself that now is not the right time.
You do not need to finish it this year. You do not even need to know exactly where it will lead.
But you may be able to stop postponing it.
Season 3 begins Friday, September 4. If you have been waiting for a realistic way to return to your own goals, this season was created for you.
The year is not over. You are not hopelessly behind. And January is not your only opportunity to begin again.
Talk soon,
Jaime
